The long winter has finally ended, and summer is in full swing in Boston. With so much to do and see, we’ve narrowed down some of our favorite happenings and created the perfect Boston Summer Day Itinerary.
Start your day with a cup of coffee or a refreshing beverage from either George Horwell Coffee, freshly brewed and farm-sourced, or Pink Carrot, providing healthy and nourishing meals and beverages. Then, soak up the sunshine and explore the city! Boston’s downtown is extremely accessible by foot, and you can cover a lot of ground – from the North End and Financial District to Fort Point and the Seaport. Along the way, follow the map of art installations from the 2025 Boston Public Art Triennial. From May to October, you can take in the citywide art exhibition featuring captivating works from artists all over the world.
Next, take a break from exploring and stop for a quick lunch. Try something new and head to Boardeaux for delicious hand-crafted paninis and charcuterie. Or, enjoy the sea breeze and a quintessential New England lobster roll at James Hook Co. by the water.
In the afternoon, take some time to visit one of the Mass Farmers Markets and peruse the fresh farm-to-table produce, specialty foods, baked goods, and small business vendors. Afterward, spend some time at one of Boston’s cultural treasures—stand before Van Gogh’s Roulin Family Portraits at the MFA, spark your imagination with hands-on exhibits at the Museum of Science, or be mesmerized by the marine life at the New England Aquarium. If you prefer to stay outside, we recommend a stroll through the city’s beautiful parks like the Boston Common or Rose Kennedy Greenway.
Indulge in dinner at one of the many Boston restaurants with outdoor dining. Enjoy the fresh air at Sonsie, famously located on Newbury Street and known for its beautiful open French doors in the summer and international cuisine; Georgie’s, an inviting space bringing wine lovers together; 75 on Liberty Wharf, with a stunning patio on the Harbor Walk; or Lifted Rooftop Restaurant and Bar, a jazzy spot in the Omni Boston Hotel in the Seaport.
Finish off the night with a classic ball game at Fenway or try something new like line dancing at Loretta’s Last Call. If you’re looking to put your networking hat on, you won’t want to miss our BIMA Summer Sizzler at Fenway’s Sam Deck this August! Don’t forget to get your tickets.
However you choose to spend your perfect summer day in Boston, we encourage you to take advantage of everything the city has to offer!
