Transformational DEI Certificate

Fluency in diversity, equity, and inclusion is critical for business success.

Program Overview

Building fluency in diversity, equity, and inclusion requires strategic skill building - join us to ensure that you and your workplace receive DEI skills to create a more equitable future for Boston’s business community. This six session leadership development series, offered in partnership with [email protected] Consulting Group, equips participants at any level of their organization with actionable DEI tools to use in their workplaces.

Stella Okeke-Common (he/her/hers) is a Consultant with [email protected] who builds wellness into the foundation of building diverse and inclusive environments where everybody is seen and heard. She is passionate about fostering growth in people and their environment, seeing others not just survive, but thrive will always be the goal!

With over 13 years of transformative leadership experience working with diverse college students across the globe, Stella is skilled in the areas of strategic planning, talent acquisition, learning and development, supervision, project management, conflict resolution, large-scale problem solving, and crisis management. Social justice is at the foundation of each expertise.

Stella’s philosophies include strategically planning through a critical lens in all areas of business. Incorporating inclusive data metrics and strong interpersonal skills to cross-functionally collaborate with others for optimum results. Research, Collaborate, Plan, Execute, Assess, Enhance, Repeat. Stella is Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership at Concordia University and earned her Master’s and B.S at Iowa State University in Educational Leadership and Psychology, respectively. Stella recently completed a certificate from the Social Justice Training Institute.

Arturo Natella (he/him/el) is a Consultant with [email protected] Consulting Group. Arturo discovered his passion for this work while working for the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center. At the MassCEC, Arturo developed the Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program and grew the program to a robust $1.5 million workforce development program. Through the program, Arturo connected diverse students to good-paying clean energy internships throughout Massachusetts.

Arturo went on to work in the Massachusetts Legislature for the Assistant Vice Chair of Ways and Means. Arturo advised and advanced legislative priorities on workforce development, always focusing on BIPOC communities. Arturo later created Amaru, a diverse talent sourcing service aimed at promoting BIPOC in the workforce. Through Amaru, Arturo has supported enterprises to rethink their talent sourcing strategies while lowering barriers and increasing access to wealth-building employment opportunities for BIPOC.

Arturo Natella is a Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter (CDR) and has received Diversity and Inclusion certification from Cornell University.

Zainub R. Ruane (she/her/hers) is a Senior Consultant with [email protected] Consulting Group. She solidified her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion...Read more
Zainub R. Ruane (she/her/hers) is a Senior Consultant with [email protected] Consulting Group. She solidified her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) shortly after becoming a parent and experiencing the corporate world through the lens of a caregiver and woman of color. She has spent the last few years working to change perceptions and stereotypes in the workplace surrounding people in marginalized communities through her work with [email protected] Consulting Group, where she advises and trains organizations on DEI daily.

Zainub has over a decade of experience working with and for Global Fortune 500 Companies such as Boston Scientific, Olympus America, and Chubb Corporation. She has developed and influenced product marketing on a regional and international level. The majority of her experience is in the medical device industry where she marketed surgical devices and systems. Throughout all of her roles, Zainub has played an active part in supporting both team and organizational culture.

She received her Master’s in Business Administration from Babson College and her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Anthropology from Rutgers University. Most recently Zainub completed a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from eCornell. She is currently completing a course on Gender Inclusion through the University of Pittsburgh.

Key Definitions & The Business Case

Gain an understanding of key diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) foundational concepts and how to advocate for the integration of DEI into your own workplace.

Overcoming Unconscious Bias

Become able to identify, interrupt, and overcome conscious and unconscious biases in the workplace.

SESSION 3

Building Inclusive Organizations

Gain an understanding of how to build organizational inclusivity, from recruiting, to onboarding, and retention practices.

SESSION 4

Impactful Conversations

Leaders, individuals, and groups conduct difficult conversations, including acknowledging and interrupting microaggressions, and facilitating ‘share and listen’ forums.

Share & Solve

Share a unique DEI related issue at your workplace and begin solving it with your cohort and DEI experts.

SESSION 6

Create a DEI Vision

Learn about DEI planning for long-term success and begin road mapping a 3-year strategy.
