Today, as the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce plans its fall programming, we are announcing what many may already expect: we will not host any in-person events through December 31, 2020. Events are important to us and our members, but public health is our priority. Like our members who have adapted to work from home to keep employees safe, we’re adapting too.
While not a difficult decision, it’s a disappointing one. We enjoy interacting with our members, colleagues, and friends face-to-face and look forward to doing that again in the future. And we know that networking and connecting is important to our members. In the meantime, we will work hard to bring you valuable and inclusive virtual experiences that support the Greater Boston business community so that all people and all businesses can thrive.
We are further calling on all of our members to consider their group gathering and in-person meetings policies for the balance of the year. The business community has responded in many ways during this crisis in the interest of employee safety including extending work-from-home policies. Limiting participation in group activities is just another way we can protect our employees and help guard against a new COVID-19 surge in Massachusetts.
For more information on our upcoming virtual events and to learn more about accessibility accommodations, see our website.
