Boston, MA – The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan M. Esper as the new Chair of its Women’s Network Advisory Board. Esper, an Audit and Enterprise Risk Services partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP, assumed the role as of January 1, 2016.
In her new role, Esper will lead a dynamic group of senior-level women from the Chamber’s board of directors and membership who shape the direction and development of and serve as community ambassadors for the Women’s Network. The Women’s Network was created in 1994 to help strengthen the professional connections of women at all career levels and better engage them in the Greater Boston business community. The multifaceted program features prominent speaker events, receptions, and roundtables on current issues affecting women, as well as the prestigious annual Pinnacle Awards honoring excellence among business and professional women. Esper received a Pinnacle Award in 2009. This year’s Pinnacle Awards luncheon will take place in Boston on January 28 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place Hotel.
Esper has more than 24 years of public accounting experience in financial services. With primary focus on investment management clients, Esper currently serves as an Audit and Enterprise Risk Services partner on several of Deloitte’s largest investment management accounts with responsibility for oversight of client service coordination and delivery. She also leads the Financial Services industry group in Deloitte’s New England practice, which is comprised of professionals dedicated to serving clients in the banking and securities, insurance, asset management and real estate sectors. Esper also has held many leadership roles within Deloitte focused on the development of the organization’s talented women and identification of opportunities for them as future leaders within Deloitte.
We are thrilled to have Susan chairing our Women’s Network Advisory Board, said James E. Rooney, Chamber president & CEO. She has already shown skill and passion in advocating for women at Deloitte. Now we can look forward to applying her knowledge in women’s leadership to the greater Boston business community. That is a real win for us.
I am extremely honored to be named Chair of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Network Advisory Board, said Esper. I am looking forward to working alongside a group of high-quality professionals to further engage the Boston business community in connecting women to the Women’s Network, which is an essential resource for their career success.
Esper assumes the Chair role from outgoing Chair, Denise Kaigler, Founder and Principal of MDK Brand Management, LLC, who held the position from 2013 to 2015.
