Wellness Reimagined

Creativity, health, resilience, and empathy drive the success of residents, employees, and the business community. But, nationally, we are living and working through a mental health crisis while navigating a global reduction in employee well-being and satisfaction. Urgently prioritizing a wholistic approach to wellness – social, physical, financial, and emotional – has never been more vital to the health and future of our businesses and people as it is now.

In this forum, employers discussed employer solutions and approaches to wellness for their employees and other stakeholders.

The Wellness Reimagined series shares how we got to this inflection point and highlight innovative best practices from leading experts and employers through forums and interactive convenings. A corresponding certificate program trains managers to adopt and center empathy while maintaining effective and impactful business outcomes in the evolving hybrid workplace.

Daniel J. Delaney is the founder and principal of the Delaney Policy Group (DPG). Harvard-trained with more than 20 years of state legislative, regulatory, and advocacy experience; Daniel brings a rare combination of elite policy expertise, hands-on experience, and a facility for effective communication to his work.

As head of the Delaney Policy Group, Daniel, along with partners from Beacon Strategies Group, became the first registered lobbyists to enter the Massachusetts regulated cannabis industry as government relations professionals. In the subsequent decade, he has led or influenced some of the most critical decisions made in that arena.

Prior to launching his own firm, Daniel served for 5 years at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in the roles of Director of Strategic Planning and Director of Intergovernmental Relations and Legislative where he oversaw legislative affairs and strategic policy development. Key efforts during that period include preservation of state resources for core public health functions, supporting the continuing implementation of Massachusetts health care reform initiatives, and working to manage new regulatory responsibilities around prescription monitoring and pharmaceutical company codes of conduct.

He also held key positions on the Joint Committee on Public Health as research director and chief of staff, as well as director of multicultural health policy at Health Care for All.

Founded in 2012, the Delaney Policy Group is a Boston-based, Black-owned government affairs and strategic consulting firm focused on delivering high-value outcomes in complex policy environments. With a proven track record of success in the cannabis industry, health care, biotechnology and economic development, DPG specializes in strategic engagement for specified outcomes rather than brute force lobbying.

Daniel’s innovative thinking and strategic implementation has delivered positive results in the most complex policy environments. His firm provides government affairs/lobbying services in industry sectors where less nimble firms tend to stall out. DPG is a firm for those who value creative problem solving and superior customer service.

DPG is Massachusetts’ only certified minority business enterprise in lobbying and government affairs. Our unique perspective creates opportunities for uniquely effective solutions.
