This moderated panel session will showcase exemplar leadership and change efforts that involved diverse public and private stakeholders. Presenters will describe their experiences and lessons from public-private change efforts, and engage the audience in a conversation about the challenges and opportunities of change via inter-sectoral partnerships. Brands must evolve in order to grow and adapt in this rapidly changing marketplace. Today, most brands are at a critical inflection point of relevancy, especially to the next generation of decision makers. Change is particularly hard to embrace when you’re still tasked with keeping the engines running on a daily basis. In this session, hear lessons learned for striking a balance between the past, present and future. Learn how to infuse change without blowing up the brand model and how to rally your employees to become brand ambassadors.

Presented by: Andrew Graff, CEO, Allen & Gerritsen

4. Leading Change: Understanding Unconscious Bias and its Impact*

Interactions at work are undergirded by pervasive but unspoken beliefs that may get in the way of change. As leaders, we have an opportunity and a responsibility to understand unconscious bias and its possible impact. In this session, we will explore research, identify best practices and select tools for identifying unconscious bias. Participants in this session will gain a clear understanding of unconscious bias and the forces that contribute to its prevalence.

Presented by: Stacy Blake-Beard, Professor of Management, Simmons School of Management

*Blake-Beard’s workshop in Session 2 is a nice compliment to this workshop.
