In our next Executive Forum, Bruce Van Saun will share his views on the evolving global economic environment and the unique role that regional banks play in both driving growth and rebuilding trust in the financial services sector.
Bruce Van Saun, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Financial Group, Inc., joined CFG in October 2013 and led Citizens to a successful initial public offering in September 2014. Since then the bank has consistently delivered strong and improving financial performance while building a reputation for disciplined execution and a customer-centric approach. In our next Executive Forum, Mr. Van Saun will share his views on the evolving global economic environment and the unique role that regional banks play in both driving growth and rebuilding trust in the financial services sector.
Mr. Van Saun has more than 30 years of financial services experience. Before joining Citizens he served as RBS Group Finance Director and as an executive director on the RBS Board from 2009 to 2013. From 1997 to 2008, Mr. Van Saun held a number of senior positions with Bank of New York and later Bank of New York Mellon, including Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions with Deutsche Bank, Wasserstein Perella Group and Kidder Peabody & Co.
Mr. Van Saun has served on a number of boards in both the U.S. and the U.K. He is currently a director of Moody’s Corporation, sits on the Federal Advisory Council, and is a member of The Clearing House Supervisory Board. He is also a board member of the National Constitution Center, the Partnership for Rhode Island and Jobs for Massachusetts.
