ABOUT SMALL BUSINESS STRONG

Small Business Strong is a leading technical assistance initiative that revitalizes and fortifies small businesses, especially women and minority owned enterprises, through expedited, pro-bono resources. Small Business Strong has served more than 3,600 businesses, preserved nearly 10,000 jobs, and bolstered the health of the region’s small businesses to create an inclusive, dynamic economy.

Small Business Strong is an initiative of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm. Our work, focused on workforce and talent development, and economic inclusion, supports people and small businesses through programs that develop talent, cultivate future leaders, retain a strong workforce, and promote inclusive growth.

Over her 30 years with Bank of America, Jill has held leadership positions across the company, including positions in Consumer & Business Banking, Wealth Management Banking and Global Corporate & Investment Banking.

She currently serves as a Managing Director and head of client experience and sustainability for the Business Banking Division, deploying strategies to provide clients, from start up to $50MM in revenue, with best-in-class experiences. In her previous role as Strategy and Transformation Executive, Jill led critical business initiatives to promote the economic empowerment of business owners nationwide, including the launch of Bank of America’s digital Center for Business Empowerment. Prior to that, Jill served as the Global Corporate Communications Executive for the company’s Global Human Resources, Finance and Risk organizations, supporting c-suite executives.

Jill started with Bank of America within the Corporate and Investment Banking group where her responsibilities included corporate banking coverage for energy and environmental services clients. She also served as the Corporate Banking COO overseeing strategic initiatives and enterprise partnerships, as well as having had various leadership positions in Small Business and Merchant Services leading national teams.

Additionally, Jill is an adjunct professor at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. She is the co-chair of Bank of America’s Domestic Violence Taskforce and serves on the National Advisory Board for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).

She is a recipient of several accolades including the NAWBO Gillian Rudd Business Leadership Award and the Enterprising Magazine Legacy Award for her longstanding commitment to business owners, the Susan G. Komen Legacy Award, the Jane Doe Justice In Action Award to create a world with gender equity, racial justice and safety for all; and the Bank of America CEO Opportunity & Inclusion Award.

Jill is also a board member for Community Servings, a non-profit providing medically, tailored meals to chronically and critically, ill patients and their families; and is the past President of the Susan G. Komen New England Board of Directors.

Jill graduated from Tufts University with a master’s degree in economics and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Clark University. She lives in the Boston area with her husband and two children.

A proven leader and collaborator, Deborah drives cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions while actively contributing to market development and community engagement.

She holds an undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College and an MBA from Simmons University. Deeply committed economic growth and financial empowerment, Deborah is an engaged member of the Greater Boston community. She serves on the Boston Chamber Women’s Advisory Council, is a Board Member of Piers Park Sailing Center, and sits on The Governor’s Academy Alumni Council.

In her free time, Deborah enjoys running, sailing and skiing with her family.
