Join us as we honor eight women for their outstanding achievement in the workplace, demonstrated leadership that has made a difference, and a commitment to enhance the quality of life in the region.

The annual Pinnacle Awards have become one of the premier business gatherings in the region, attracting more than 1,200 attendees annually. 

Join us on February 1 as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Women’s Network and honor eight women for their outstanding achievement in the workplace, demonstrated leadership that has made a difference, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the region with a Pinnacle Award. This year’s honorees have made, and continue to make, a remarkable impact on Greater Boston and beyond. We are particularly thrilled to present the renowned Professor Anita F. Professor, Brandeis University Honoree, 25th Anniversary, Lifetime Achievement

The youngest of 13 children from a farm in Oklahoma, Professor Anita F. Hill received her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1980.  She began her career in private practice in Washington, D.C. There she also worked at the U. S. Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  In 1989, Professor Hill became the first African American to be tenured at the University of Oklahoma, College of Law, where she taught contracts and commercial law.  Currently, at Brandeis University, she teaches courses on gender, race, social policy and legal history. Along with Provost Steve A. N. Goldstein, Professor Hill is responsible for implementing Fulfilling the Promise:  The Brandeis University Strategic Plan. As counsel to Cohen Milstein, she advises on class action workplace discrimination cases. In December of 2017, Professor Hill became the Chair of the Hollywood entertainment industry’s Commission to Eliminate Sexual Harassment and Advance Equality in the Workplace. Her latest book is Reimagining Equality: Stories of Gender, Race and Finding Home, an analysis of the housing market collapse of 2008 and its impact on gender and racial equality. Professor Hill adds this work to many other publications including books and articles on subjects ranging from bankruptcy to equal educational opportunity. She is the recipient of numerous awards, grants and honorary degrees. Hill’s professional and civic contributions include chairing the Human Rights Law Committee of the International Bar Association, and membership on the Board of Governors of the Tufts Medical Center and the Board of Directors of the National Women’s Law Center and the Boston Area Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights.

Marlo founded the marlo marketing agency in 2004 with one staff member and four core clients including Starbucks Coffee. Fourteen years later, marlo has become a leading integrated marketing agency, with offices in Boston and New York, serving international, national and regional clients ranging from major hotel properties to national snack brands, beverages to beauty products, and financial services to urban development groups. Marlo supports many non-profits and donates much of her time to pro-bono work. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Boston Public Market Association and the Boston Police Activities League, was recently appointed Vice Chair of Plymouth 400, at the appointment of Governor Baker, and served as Chairperson of the Outdoor Advertising Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2006-2009, at the appointment of Governor Romney.

Amy Latimer was part of TD Garden’s inaugural executive team in 1995, and through successive leadership roles she was promoted to president of the arena in 2012. She continues to raise Boston’s profile as a premier sports and entertainment destination by attracting national and international events, including the 2015 NCAA Frozen Four, 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional and the 2022 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four. Recently, she has led the development of a multilevel, 60,000-square-foot expansion of the arena while playing a key role in the Delaware North and Boston Properties partnership to develop the 1.5-million-square-foot site of the original Boston Garden. This project, known as The Hub on Causeway, provides TD Garden with a new, grand entrance to the arena and will include a smaller scale live entertainment venue, a movie theater, and a grocery store, among other amenities for visitors and TD Garden fans. In addition, Latimer serves on a number of local Boards, including as executive director of the philanthropic arm of TD Garden: Garden Neighborhood Charities.

Lisa S. Wieland has served in the Port Director role at the Massachusetts Port Authority since March of 2015. In her current role, and previously as Maritime’s Chief Administrative Officer, she leads all financial management, business planning, strategic initiatives, process improvement, special projects, and the day-to-day management of the Maritime division. Before joining the Maritime team, Lisa served in several roles at Massport, including the Director of Corporate Planning and Analysis and the Director of HR Strategy & Employment. Prior to her employment with Massport, Lisa worked as a consultant for Bain & Company serving health care and consumer products clients, and previous to that, for CNN in various news and political assignments.

Deborah Hughes

Deborah Hughes has served the families of the highly successful Brookview House since 1991. This tenure demonstrates her allegiance to improving poor women’s circumstance and her passion for helping courageous moms lift their children out of homelessness. Deborah leads a team of skilled professionals who make it possible for 92% of moms to maintain housing long-term and 88% of youth in Brookview youth programs to graduate high school. During her tenure, Brookview expanded into a multi-service agency providing affordable housing, youth services, education and training to more than 450 women and children annually. Brookview will ensure more families succeed and thrive when the agency completes construction of its third affordable housing development with programs on-site.

Dani Monroe integrates diversity and inclusion into patient care, science and teaching missions while balancing the needs of the entire workforce of 75,000 employees at Partners HealthCare, New England’s largest healthcare organization and private employer. Monroe has led diversity and inclusion efforts for more than 30 years in institutions like the Central Intelligence Agency, John Hancock, Hasbro, Pfizer, and the Walt Disney Company, just to name a few. She is the author of a book titled, “Untapped Talent: Unleashing the Power of the Hidden Workforce.” In 2012, Governor Deval Patrick appointed Monroe to the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women.

President of Wentworth since 2005, Dr. Zorica Pantić is the first woman-engineer to lead an institute of technology in the U.S. Under her leadership, Wentworth introduced seven graduate programs thus becoming a master’s degree granting institution and achieving “university” status. Dr. Pantić has also overseen introduction of 10 undergraduate programs (eight in engineering), a $300M investment in state-of-the-art facilities, and a 20% enrollment increase. The enhanced experiential-learning model combined with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, resulted in excellent regional and national rankings including top 8% for return on investment in the U.S. and top 50 women-led businesses in Massachusetts. Dr. Pantić was the founding dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio, director of the School of Engineering at San Francisco State University, and a Fulbright Fellow.

Livingstone manages portions of a $2 billion, 2.9 million square feet mixed-use redevelopment project in downtown Boston. Before joining HYM, Julie was Deputy Chief of Staff at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia where she focused on policy analysis and program development. Previously, she worked at the Corporation for National and Community Service in Washington, DC and as an AmeriCorps NCCC member in Gulf Coast communities after Hurricane Katrina. Award-winning journalist Paula Ebben co-anchors WBZ-TV News at 5:30PM and WBZ-TV 8PM News on myTV38 with co-anchor Liam Martin. Ebben also reports across WBZ-TV’s newscasts including WBZ-TV News’ “Eye on Education” reports. A Central Massachusetts native raised in Shrewsbury, Ebben previously worked as an anchor and reporter at New England Cable News. Before joining NECN, Ebben was an anchor and reporter at WGMC-TV in Worcester. Ebben received a 2014 Columbia DuPont Award and a 2013 Peabody Award as part of WBZ-TV’s team coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombings. She has been nominated for multiple New England Emmy Awards for Anchor, Consumer Reporter, Education Series and for Writing. In 2005, Ebben received a regional RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Feature Reporting. In 2011, she was chosen to report for all CBS stations from The Royal Wedding in London, England. She has also reported from the Democratic (’04) and Republican National Conventions (’04 and ’16). She has interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House, reported from the Canonization of the Popes in Rome and covered the three city visit of Pope Francis to the United States. Ebben graduated cum laude from Boston College with a BA degree in English. Ebben serves on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Notre Dame Academy in Worcester. She also does volunteer work for Bridge Over Troubled Waters, the Boston College Alumni Board of Directors, the Women’s Alumni Mentoring Program at Boston College, Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart and The Roxbury Latin School. Ebben and her husband reside in the Greater Boston area with their four children.
