What is Camp City Awake?
Camp City Awake is an opportunity for Greater Boston’s young professionals to network and break out of their routines, participate in community-building activities, harbor new relationships, and be inspired about the future of our region. A hand-selected group of young professionals venture out to Thompson Island on a chartered ferry to embark on a full day of adventures (think ropes courses, alpine climbs, scenic walks, and more!).
Once on the island, the renowned Thompson Island Outward Bound Professional Team will start the day with a brief orientation and light breakfast. Next, participants will be broken into groups and program facilitation will begin. Attendees can expect to be challenged to think critically about their role in Boston’s success and the importance of working together to ensure the region stays ahead. We encourage discussion around pressing issues facing Greater Boston and its millennial population.
We cap off the day with a barbecue, bonfire and lawn games as we enjoy a unique and breathtaking view of the Boston skyline.
Who should attend?
If you’re new to Boston, or find yourself facing the same issues over and over in your workplace or career, we encourage you to come. You’ll meet people you might otherwise never have met, and will go back to work with a fresh perspective. Sometimes all you need is an alpine challenge course to discover something new about yourself, or who has your back!
Anyone between the ages of 21-39 are welcome! To view a current list of attendees, click here.
