The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a new Women’s Network program called All in for Advancement. Produced in partnership with Babson College, All in for Advancement will develop leaders who have a positive impact on their office cultures by helping participants gain a deeper understanding of gender acumen and inclusion and providing them with the learning tools needed to achieve inclusivity in their offices through a year-long group leadership program. While the initiative is presented as a program of the Chamber’s Women’s Network, the hope is that a broader focus on overall office culture will ultimately create more positive working environments for all individuals across the greater Boston business community.
All in for Advancement is the result of a year-long planning exercise with Chamber staff, the Women’s Network Advisory Board, and Babson College. The group set out to mark the 25th anniversary of the Women’s Network with a bold initiative intended to focus on improving workplace cultures for women in business, while also creating more opportunities and more equitable representation for women on boards and in the C-suite.
Our inaugural cohort will set the groundwork for what we hope will be a larger groundswell of support for greater Boston women in the workforce. This cohort includes the following 10 “INfluencers:”
In addition to participating in the program, Comcast is a sponsor of All in for Advancement.
INfluencers will send three to four staff members – outside of human resource teams – who represent a mix of genders, disciplines, seniority, racial and ethnic backgrounds to be a part of the program. The curriculum is designed to give participants a better understanding of how they can shift their cultures towards increased gender equity and inclusivity. In addition to peer support and networking between INfluencers, exposure to exemplar leaders of culture change, and tailored group coaching sessions, each organization will have the opportunity to launch a scalable pilot effort to support inclusion which will be presented to company leadership at the culmination of the program.

Rooney, president and CEO of the Chamber. “All in for Advancement is our way of taking the work of the Women’s Network to the next level by calling on the business community to lead the way in removing barriers that are preventing equitable workplaces.”

We wanted to think about the next 25 years, and the work we need to do to ensure that all women have safe and inclusive office cultures where they can thrive,” said Yvonne Garcia, chair of the Women’s Network Advisory Board and senior vice president at State Street. “I am thankful to the Chamber and our Advisory Board members for thinking big about Women’s Network 2.0 and look forward to seeing that work not only come to fruition, but also have a lasting impact.”

The Chamber announced the kickoff of All in for Advancement at the 25th Anniversary Pinnacle Awards, held this afternoon at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. The awards honored eight greater Boston women professionals for extraordinary achievement and leadership, including Professor Anita Hill of Brandeis University who received a Lifetime Achievement award.
