We are fortunate to be in a state where policymakers are on the same page about strictly regulated gun access and the promotion of safe and responsible gun ownership. This past weekend’s violence and horrific mass casualties in Texas and Ohio, as well as the seemingly routine shootings in our cities requires urgent action to regulate gun access and ban weapons of war from American streets.
It’s time for the business community to use its voice and leverage in advocating for change. These crimes are happening in our places of business and communities, endangering our employees, customers, neighbors, and families. My colleagues in Chambers of Commerce and business leaders across the country must work with, and pressure, congressional leadership to work towards a solution that includes sensible gun control and prevents further deaths from gun violence of all kinds.
