The Backyard Bash
on the Common

Event Details

  • We’re excited to be partnering with Friends of the Public Garden for their 4th Annual Backyard Bash! Please note that the event has been rescheduled and will now take place on October 9.
  • Wrap up the summer with great music, lawn games and activities, frozen delights, sparkling mocktails, and great company.
  • While this event is designed with young professionals in mind, all individuals interested in attending are welcome.

Tickets

  • Free for Members and Non-Members, with a suggested donation of $25 to support the Chamber Foundation and its programming.

Beats, Bites, & Backyard Fun

The Backyard Bash is a fantastic opportunity to unwind, socialize, and connect with your friends or meet new people in a laid-back atmosphere. Dive into classic backyard games like cornhole, KanJam, Ladder Ball, Giant Jenga, Connect 4, and more. The event will feature music from a live DJ as well as a special outdoor concert showcasing three local artists. A variety of refreshments will be provided, including sandwiches, sparkling mocktails, and complimentary ice cream served by the Boston Ice Cream Truck.

Take advantage of this opportunity to create meaningful connections during the final moments of summer – don’t miss out!

ABOUT CITY AWAKE

City Awake is the go-to network for Boston’s young professionals in their 20s and 30s, bringing together emerging leaders from diverse industries and backgrounds to expand their networks, strengthen civic engagement, and shape a more inclusive, vibrant region. Through dynamic events, cross-sector collaboration, and meaningful programming, City Awake helps young professionals build social capital, forge connections across industries, and find new ways to contribute to their communities.

City Awake is an initiative of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Chamber’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm. Our work, focused on workforce and talent development, and economic inclusion, supports people and small businesses through programs that develop talent, cultivate future leaders, retain a strong workforce, and promote inclusive growth.

    The Boston Common is conveniently accessible via public transportation and encourage attendees to take public transportation to this event.

    Yes, the Boston Common is handicap accessible.

  • COVID Policy

    The Department of Health and Human Services lifted the Presidential Declaration of a National Public Health Emergency arising from the COVID-19 pandemic on May 11, 2023. Therefore, COVID-19 will no longer be considered a national health emergency. The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce will continue to monitor trends and act accordingly based on Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance.

    Your health and safety remain our top priority while attending programs, events, and meetings. COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are strongly recommended. The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce still follows exposure guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.

    If you fell ill or learn of an exposure before an event or meeting, whether with COVID-19 symptoms or others, please stay home and contact your healthcare provider.
