As a native Guatemalan, I dreamed of becoming a businessman supporting new opportunities and a better life in my community. At 17, I moved to the U.S., driven to pursue these goals. Now, with five associate degrees, two bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Finance & Accounting from Northeastern University, and an MBA from Cambridge College, I serve as a Tax Auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. For the last 4 years, I volunteered and currently served as a board member and the Treasurer of the Fuller Center of Disaster Recovery branch of Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit assisting in rebuilding the uninsured homes of low-income families impacted by major disasters in the USA. I have also led the Student and Alumni Association of my graduate school. I serve as a board member for the City Awake program at the Boston Chamber of Commerce. Currently, I’m working on my vision for a long life of learning, pursuing my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License, A.A. in Computer Science, and FAA Commercial Pilot License. Outside my professional pursuits, I engage in leadership and musical roles in my community and place of worship. I am a senior soccer coach for a Boston non-profit, founded an “Idea Incubator” for talented students in Guatemala, self-funded the purchase of 100+ used laptops (and counting) for Guatemalan underprivileged children, and professors to teach them computer skills and ultimately software developing (coding) skills. Taught basic English classes in a Spanish-populated town in MA due to the in-person classes needed during COVID-19. Above all else, I enjoy raising my two young daughters (7 & 3). I am passionate about continuous learning and community services, aiming to create a positive impact on the lives of those around me, both personally and professionally.
