Boston, MA – The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a new partnership with Citizens Bank and the Chamber’s thriving Young Professionals Network to embrace and engage with the millennial workforce in our region.
The Chamber launched the Young Professionals Network (YPN) in March of 2015. Open to any professional ages 21-39 within Chamber member companies, the YPN offers individuals the opportunity to develop leadership skills through professional development workshops, build lasting professional relationships, attend events and receptions with exposure to the region’s established business leaders, and deepen their engagement to the Greater Boston business and civic communities. Just over a year old, the Chamber’s YPN network already has more than 2,300 members. Recent programming has included a professional development event using lessons in improvisation at Boston’s Improv Asylum, and cooking demonstration and networking reception at The Kitchen at Boston’s Public Market. Events are scheduled in the evening, and ticket prices for attendance are typically lower than a traditional Chamber program.
As the city of Boston and its demographics shift, the Chamber remains committed to ensuring that our programs and offerings change as well to reflect the needs of our membership as well as the next generation of Boston business leaders, said James E. Rooney, president and CEO of the Chamber. We are thrilled to have a partner in this effort with Citizens Bank, and know that they are the perfect organization to help take our ever-growing YPN to the next level. Citizens Bank is one of our most engaged and active members, and I look forward to working with Jerry and the entire team to bring exciting, new events, speakers and networking opportunities to our younger members.
Sponsoring this important Chamber initiative is a natural fit for Citizens Bank, said Jerry Sargent, Massachusetts President for Citizens Bank and Greater Boston Chamber Board Member. Citizens is a longtime partner of the Chamber, and within our organization, we are strong advocates in creating networking opportunities for our younger workforce and encouraging these young leaders to take advantage of the stellar programming offered by the Chamber of Commerce. Our partnership will ensure that we can attract, develop, and retain our talented young workforce in the Greater Boston region.
The first event for the Young Professionals Network in Partnership with Citizens Bank will take place on Thursday, July 14 at the Lawn on D Powered by Citizens Bank, in the South Boston Waterfront.
