Retired Army Colonel Jill Morgenthaler, the author of The Courage To Take Command: Leadership Lessons From a Military Trailblazer and global speaker, is a woman of many firsts. She was one of the first women to train as an equal with men in college ROTC. At the age of 23, she commanded along the DMZ.
Colonel Jill was the first woman battalion commander in the 88th Command and the first woman brigade commander in the 84th Division; and, additionally, the first woman Homeland Security Advisor for Illinois. In Iraq, she was awarded the Bronze Star. Today, Colonel Jill enthralls international audiences with her showdown with Saddam Hussein and engaging leadership lessons, proving her philosophy: Leaders are grown, not born.
