Each year, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce brings together an exceptional group of public and private sector leaders for City to City (C2C), an exclusive experience designed to spark new thinking, strengthen relationships, and bring bold ideas back to Greater Boston to continue strengthening the region’s competitive edge.

In 2025, more than 60 business leaders joined us in Philadelphia to explore how another major city is tackling today’s economic and social challenges. Through candid conversations and immersive experiences, participants exchanged insights, built meaningful connections, and returned home energized with new ideas to help move Greater Boston forward.

This November 15 – November 17, City to City returns with a new destination to be announced soon. While the location remains under wraps for now, you can expect a highly curated experience in a city that will offer powerful lessons, bold thinking, and fresh inspiration, paired with unparalleled access and connection. If you’re ready to expand your network, sharpen your leadership lens, and positively influence our region, City to City is where it begins. Let’s shape the future of Greater Boston—together.

City to City’s mission is to contribute to Greater Boston’s ability to support economic and social growth, opportunity, and wellbeing to the widest range of citizens who choose to live in the Greater Boston region. City to City encourages civic leadership and participation among all Greater Boston’s social and economic sectors, including government, nonprofit, and corporate organizations. The program builds networks of diverse leaders who can share ideas and develop urban solutions that encompass all Greater Boston.

Philadelphia Recap

 

Philadelphia shares many qualities with Boston, including rich histories, world-class universities, and a commitment to fostering innovation. Last year’s City to City program offered participants an immersive, behind‑the‑scenes look at how a peer city is navigating growth, advancement, and equity in a rapidly changing economic landscape. Over two and a half  thoughtfully curated days, attendees explored the intersection of culture, community, and commerce—gaining firsthand exposure to the ideas, partnerships, and strategies shaping Philadelphia’s progress.

The experience blended on‑the‑ground exploration with candid conversations among civic, business, education, and healthcare leaders. From neighborhood revitalization and large‑scale development projects to workforce pipelines, anchor institutions, and regional transportation challenges, the program surfaced intentional strategies shaping urban development, workforce readiness, and regional collaboration.

The experience combined strategic insight with meaningful peer connection—offering fresh perspectives, practical takeaways, and relationships that continue to inform leadership back in Greater Boston.
