Boston, MA – The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its 2016 Ten Outstanding Young Leaders (TOYL) awards. The TOYL Awards are designed to celebrate the contributions of the region’s current and emerging young leaders from public, private and nonprofit sectors. The winners will be honored on October 24 at Empire Restaurant and Lounge, where they will share ideas and visions for the future of Greater Boston and Massachusetts.
The 2016 Ten Outstanding Young Leaders were nominated by members of the community and selected by a committee of past TOYL honorees.
This year’s honorees include:

• Genevieve Nadeau, Chief, Civil Rights Division, Office of the Attorney General

• Eddie Walker, Director, Market Strategy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

Greater Boston is known for having the most talented young workforce in the world. And this is talent that spans every industry – from arts and culture to government to technology, life sciences and more, said James E. Rooney, president & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber. This year’s TOYL honorees exemplify this talent, and we could not be prouder to recognize ten individuals who are not only contributing to Boston’s success today, but, more importantly, are participating in the conversations and work necessary to ensure our region’s success far into the future.
In 2012, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce revived the Ten Outstanding Young Leaders (TOYL) awards to continue the tradition of honoring Greater Boston’s current and future leaders. The TOYL awards were presented by the Boston Jaycees from 1952 to 2006 to identify and celebrate young leaders. Since its inception, more than 500 young leaders have been honored for their professional, personal, and civic commitment to improving the quality of life within our community. Past recipients include President John F. Kennedy, conductor Leonard Bernstein, business leader Jack Connors, Jr. and community advocate and United Nations representative, Carol Fulp.
The TOYL Awards will take place on October 24 at Empire Restaurant and Lounge from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To register to attend the event, click here.
