Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce
Hosted by Bank of America, Boston Public Schools (BPS), Boston Plan for Excellence (BPE), the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and City of Boston, the Principal Partners event generates support for the city’s public schools. On Principal Partners Day, leaders from the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors partner with BPS principals as they lead their schools through the activities of a regular school day. In April 2025, Principal Partners relaunched, convening 93 business leaders who visited 86 schools and 87 Principals. Business and community leaders get an unparalleled opportunity to experience Boston and its public schools from an insider’s perspective. They spend a half day in the life of a school, with all of the players and dynamics that entails, gaining a new understanding of school administration. Business leaders, principals, and City officials convene for lunch to share their experiences and explore the many additional opportunities to support the city’s schools and engage with school leaders and students.
The capacity for students to understand the basics of personal finance, budgeting, investing, credit, and other components of financial literacy is critical to their career success and ability to build wealth. Educators and the business community are committed to supporting students with building financial literacy skills before they graduate high school. Working together, the Chamber Foundation and Boston Public Schools are developing a shared vision for financial literacy coursework that incorporates experiential learning opportunities for students to connect with business and financial professionals.
The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Foundation will transform the lives of current and future residents by leveraging the Commonwealth’s untapped talent, championing small businesses, and creating tomorrow’s leaders in support of a 21st century economy. The Commonwealth’s talent across all industries has always been our competitive advantage. Now, we must nurture and invest in every person and community to ensure a successful future. The impact of the Foundation will be transformative for people and employers, resulting in economic security for residents and making our region’s workforce the most representative and most skilled in the U.S.
