Mei Mei’s handmade dumplings has led to winning Boston’s Best Dumplings from Boston Magazine not once, but twice. Join owner and Chef Irene Li, as she not only shows us the art of dumpling making, but also shares the history of Mei Mei.
Join this special City Awake event where we’ll feature past Ten Outstanding Young Leader honoree and local Chef, Irene Li. This hands-on class covers everything you need to make dumplings at home including hand-folding techniques and how to achieve that perfect pan-sear. Irene will share her expertise as a Chef but also as a community leader. She’ll share the history of Mei Mei, it’s role in the Boston community, and why she believes it’s important for the next generation of leaders to get involved in their communities.
Speaker Bio: Irene Li’s life experiences range from organic farming to prison education and many things in between. Through her passion for creating change, carefully sourced ingredients and high quality jobs, Irene’s leadership has led to the implementation of open book management. She is continuously aiming to improve the business and provide team members with valuable hospitality skills and financial know-how.
