If you’ve ever dreamed of opening a small business or a box of dumplings at lunch, come hear and taste from Irene Li of Mei Mei Kitchen. Since 2012, Irene and her two siblings have grown their business from a food truck to a brick and mortar restaurant, collecting numerous awards along the way. She’ll talk about the process and how to prioritize values in your business. For Irene, that’s included becoming a leader in ethical sourcing and employment practices in the restaurant industry. Come with an empty stomach and a curious mind.
City Awake works to empower the next generation of Greater Boston leaders through programming that builds community and engages young professionals in dialogue about the most pressing issues facing our region. Through this work, we hope to deepen their connections to the broader business and civic communities and recognize their important contributions to our thriving economy.
