The ongoing AI revolution is significantly influencing the region’s businesses, workforce, and economy. As the leading voice of the business community, the Chamber is dedicated to ensuring Massachusetts remains at the forefront of AI innovation both nationally and globally, cementing its role in this technological transformation.
The AI Advantage series will offer a platform to discuss the urgent crisis Greater Boston faces by bringing in leading experts in the field to discuss the many opportunities presented by the AI revolution and the impact of advanced technology on the business community and our region. This series will enhance awareness among the audience. The Chamber is uniquely positioned to unite leaders from all communities and industries, leveraging our relationships to convene the business community on this critical issue affecting employees and employers daily.

In this transformative event, Northeastern President Joseph E. Aoun shared his vision for how to prepare students to be “robot-proof,” ensuring they are equipped with skills that technology cannot replace. The conversation dove into the Chamber’s perspective on how AI is shaping business landscapes, economic growth, and policy decisions in Greater Boston.
“Superagency,” a term attributed to LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, describes a supercharging of human creativity and productivity with the use of AI. The report suggests AI could ultimately amplify human capabilities similarly to the telephone, steam engine, and internet.
As the new chairman of the Chamber’s board of directors, Thomas is thinking about how this high-cost region stacks up against others across the country. One of Thomas’s personal projects as Chamber chairman is the creation of a “future of tech” committee in which executives will discuss the best approaches to state policies related to that field that the chamber should endorse.

Launched in partnership with MassChallenge, the SharkNinja Innovation Challenge invited STEM student innovators and early-career entrepreneurs nationwide to tackle real-world problems with fresh, impactful solutions.

Transportation First is a Chamber initiative to address the transportation crisis in Massachusetts. Creating a world class transportation system requires policymakers, employers, and residents to recognize that transportation is a public good and should be treated as such urgently. By putting transportation first, the Commonwealth will be in a better position to solve other policy issues which are barriers to the region’s continued growth and prosperity like housing, climate decarbonization and adaption, economic development, economic opportunity, and education access.
The moment calls for a long-term and sustainable mobility funding plan, systemic reform, and a vision for strategic super-investments. This will result in business and job growth across the Commonwealth, timelier and more affordable commutes, more accessible and equitable educational opportunities, lower emissions, livable and more affordable neighborhoods, and inclusive economic development.
The Transportation First series will offer a platform to discuss the urgent crisis Greater Boston faces by bringing in experts in the field as well as changemakers to discuss the issues and talk about what the solutions for the future are.
This session will feature Phillip Eng, Interim Secretary and CEO of MassDOT and General Manager of the MBTA, who will share key insights into the current state of the MBTA, the strategic direction guiding the future of public transportation, and the Administration’s approach to improving transportation infrastructure throughout the Commonwealth.
Hear from State Highway Administrator, Jonathan Gulliver, who will share insights into current priorities, upcoming projects, and the strategic vision guiding Massachusetts’ transportation infrastructure. From bridge rehabilitation to highway modernization, this conversation will highlight the innovations and challenges shaping the future of mobility in the region.

Governor Maura Healey appointed our Chamber’s President & CEO, James E. Rooney, to the state’s Transportation Funding Task Force, which includes public sector leaders and business groups.
