Why Philadelphia?

Philadelphia shares many qualities with Boston, including rich histories, world-class universities, and a commitment to fostering innovation. With a population of over 1.6 million, Philadelphia stands as the second-largest city on the East Coast and the sixth-largest in the nation. The city offers a dynamic juxtaposition of its colonial roots with modern urban revitalization, blending history with progress in a way that is uniquely its own.

  • Like Boston, Philadelphia boasts a thriving ecosystem fueled by highly educated, diverse labor forces. While Boston is celebrated for its prominence in biotechnology and healthcare, Philadelphia has become a piloting hub for advancements in artificial intelligence, life sciences and cell & gene therapy, with groundbreaking innovation centers leading the way.
  • Philadelphia’s infrastructure and development projects, including expanded public transit options, cutting-edge innovation districts, mixed-use developments, and ambitious carbon neutrality goals, mirrors Boston’s focus on sustainability and innovation but brings a distinctive approach tailored to its growing population and smart city technologies that integrate specific urban needs.
  • Philadelphia stands out for its robust education system and is home to one of the nation’s largest school districts, offering a diverse range of K-12 public, private, and charter schools that emphasize creativity, equity, and academic excellence. As released by Forbes in December 2024, Philadelphia’s School District is making a strategic move to position itself as a national leader in artificial intelligence integration within education.
