The Chamber submitted testimony to the Joint Committee on Revenue in support of two bills that would make Massachusetts more business-friendly – S.1604, An Act Providing Interest Rate Parity and S.1609, An Act Enhancing Department of Revenue Reporting.
- S.1604 would provide interest rate parity for taxpayers and the DOR so that the same rate would be applied to overpayments and underpayments, making the system more fair and equitable. View the Chamber's testimony on S.1604 here.
- S.1609 would provide transparency in the tax appeals process by requiring the Department of Revenue to report on specific metrics, which would ultimately assist with identifying areas for improvement in tax administration. View the Chamber's testimony on S.1609 here.
