Imagine a Chamber team bonding night at The Paint Bar on Newbury Street. Everyone is sipping and snacking, bonding over our collective poor artistic talents. Until, that is, you look over and notice that your newest team member has created a masterpiece that could actually hang in the MFA. Guess which one is hers:
Meet our front desk receptionist, Nicole Duennebier, who happens to be an incredible Greater Boston artist!
Nicole is the first person you see when you come up to our office. She is also the voice of the Chamber, directing your calls as they come in. She manages our new Member Space and makes sure you’re well fed when you come for meetings.
In addition to her stellar contributions to the Chamber, Nicole has a passion for painting. She graduated from the Maine College of Art, and spends much of her spare time working on pieces for upcoming shows, or experimenting with clay models to help inform her paintings. Nicole was recently highlighted as a 2018 New England “Artist to Watch” by Take Magazine. One of her recent still life paintings, “Still Life with Meat Pile,” is currently on display in a solo show at 13FOREST Gallery in Arlington.
She’s also taken to collaborating with her sister, Caitlin. In these pieces, Nicole will paint the background and Caitlin will populate it with people. Nicole says that since they’ve started working together, they’ve seen an increase in demand for their collaborative work, and Nicole enjoys the challenges and opportunities that "team" artwork inspires.
So far, the thing Nicole enjoys most about the Chamber is the people she’s working with. She says, “I was intimidated at first, but then I heard laughter coming from the offices. The people here are incredibly intelligent and friendly.” Nicole also likes being involved in the execution of Chamber events, as she feels like an integral part of the events we host here in the office. Her cheerful personality makes greeting Chamber guests a simple task.
Please join us in welcoming Nicole, and check out more of her work here.
