On June 13, 2017, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce submitted testimony to the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce in opposition to S.1048/H.2172, An Act establishing a paid family and medical leave insurance program. The Chamber asked the Committee to consider several concerns and outstanding questions about the impacts the bills would have on the Massachusetts business community. In particular, the Chamber highlighted issues surrounding the cost to employers, employee eligibility requirements, employee benefits, and the need for additional clarity for employers.
