Chamber Offers Testimony on Credit Report Bills

We submitted testimony to the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development concerning several bills that would restrict the use credit reports in employment decisions. For many of our members, having the credit history of potential and current employees is critically important, particularly for employees who may have direct access to, and oversight of, client funds. We also understand and appreciate the intent of the bills and the importance of removing barriers to gainful employment, and prefer bills S.1031 and H.2372 and oppose S.985 and H.3153, all of which are entitled An Act Regulating the Use of Credit Reports by Employers.
