Chamber team member to run Boston Marathon

Posted by Jennie Pane-Joyce on April 15, 2016

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Kristin Grazioso, Government Relations Coordinator at the Chamber and newly-minted marathon runner!  Look for Kristin as she runs her first ever Boston Marathon this coming Monday, April 18th.

Kristin’s Marathon story is an inspiring tale, with a message that we can all appreciate. “The Boston Marathon has always been on my bucket list, but something that seemed pretty out of reach. I was finally talked into it by some pretty persuasive friends, and before you know it, I was signed up.”

Kristin’s tenacious approach is a living embodiment of the Nike credo. The “Just Do It,” mentality is key to overcoming training challenges, such as New England’s notoriously petulant weather. Kristin tells us that the hardest part about training is the cold and the early mornings. “It’s never easy to prepare for a long run when its 30 degrees out, but once you’re out there it’s not so bad.”

Having started about two months ago, Kristin is a relatively new face at the Chamber and a most welcome addition. She brings five years of experience at the MA State Senate, where she was the Legislative Director for State Senator John Keenan (D, Quincy). Kristin’s role at the Chamber is a natural progression for the Quincy native, who says she “loves policy work,” and is excited to take her “knowledge and experience from the legislature… and really hone in on issues that help better the business community.” The Chamber is equally excited have Kristin on the team.

We’ll be cheering Kristin on as she takes on the big 26.2. Those interested in tracking Kristin and other runners can take advantage of AT&T Athlete Alerts. An esteemed Chamber member, AT&T is the Exclusive Sponsor of this helpful program, which you can register for here.

We’re rooting for you, Kristin! Way to go!
