Last month, the Chamber announced the formation of “Business for Skilled Worker Immigration,” a coalition of 25 Chambers of Commerce from across the U.S. working to open up access to the top international talent both throughout Greater Boston – and nationally.
The Greater Boston Chamber and other members of the group have begun pushing forward three specific proposals related to this reform: increasing the availability of temporary, skilled foreign worker (H-1B) visas, creating new permanent resident visas for foreign students in the STEM field, and forming new visas for foreign entrepreneurs.
